Lands

Lands are virtual parcels of terrain where ownership rights are held - certified through smart contracts on the Polygon Blockchain - represented by coordinates on an open map, the Open World. This world is accessible and explorable by any platform user and a presence in terms of Land inside it opens up a series of opportunities for visibility, awareness, exclusivity, and, as property, also offers the possibility to increase their value and rent, exchange or resell them to third parties.

Lands are technically non-fungible tokens (NFT) based on the ERC-721 standard, and virtually represent square plots of physical land, each with a side of 16 meters.

The contract address of Coderblock Lands is: 0xf4b0c69d94f3a2a26b7e37f9876baab99eb4cb77

Lands types

There are 3 types of Land available for building: Grass, Sand and Water.

These are combined with 'Hub' and 'Road' type lands, which can only be built by the Coderblock team, to create the open world map!

The screenshot above shows a section of the Open World map with lands of different colors: grasslands are green, sandy lands are beige and waterlands are blue. The square of blue land represents Oasis City, one of the main cities in the Coderblock universe.

It is possible to create any type of scenario on any of the three types of land available to the user; the only precaution to be taken is when building on water: in this case, if you want to construct buildings or other interacting elements above them, you will need to place a platform on the water layer (using the many standard elements available in the Builder) or any other element that can serve as a support for further constructions.

Lands and Estate

If you own two or more contiguous parcels of land, you can create an "Estate", which is a virtual property made up of several contiguous parcels of land. You can use the Land Manager in Coderblock Studio to merge your Lands and create a new non-fungible token associated with the new property.

Remember to always have a small amount of Matic (just a few cents is enough) to pay the fees necessary for the Estate creation transaction!

The contract address for Estates in Coderblock, which is different from Lands as they use different smart contracts, is: 0x7bff9377e0093b385c3f8ab1ad6d2bd79f07b857

Land position

The value and potential of each Land or Estate will vary based on their location and proximity to special points of attraction (such as Coderblock cities) or Lands owned by major brands. This is because the likelihood of a Land being visited organically increases with its proximity to other Lands hosting events or representing points of interest for users.

Once on a Land, you can reach adjacent Lands simply by walking and exploring the virtual environment around you, or by using the geographic coordinates of a specific Land to teleport directly to it.

You can find a detailed guide on how to build virtual scenes on your Land or Estate using the Builder tool, our proprietary online tool, HERE, in a simple and intuitive manner.
